I am a PhD student under the supervision of Roland Backhouse from the University of Nottingham and José Nuno Oliveira from the University of Minho.

The title of my PhD project is "Structure Editing of Handwritten Mathematics". The main goal of this project is to create a Tablet PC application that will allow straightforward, flexible and reliable manipulation of documents containing substantial amounts of mathematics used in Algorithmic Problem Solving - that is, computer algorithms and specifications of such algorithms. This work follows from the need for an effective way to write documents with mathematical calculations, proofs, algorithms and so on, as we do on paper, but exploiting the greater flexibility of a computer.
