G64PIT/G4DPMI - MSc Dissertations

G64PIT and G64PMI are compulsory 60 credit modules for all MSc in IT and MSc in Management of IT students respectively.  This involves conducting original research in IT, and writing a formal dissertation.

The module has some components (and some deadlines) during Semester 2, but the majority of the work is carried out over the summer period.

Being worth 60 credits means that the dissertation represents a third of your degree - the equivalent of a full semesters taught courses.  This is thus a very large scale undertaking, about which it is worth thinking very carefully.  This site contains material intended to help you to choose a dissertation topic, find a supervisor and effectively plan your work.
