Project Title: A Decision Support System for Office Space Management Student: Philippos Psyllos Course: BSc Hons Computer Science Abstract: Decision Support Systems (DSS) are a specific class of computerized information systems which are designed to support business or organizational decision-making activities. A properly designed DSS is an interactive software-based system which aims to assist decision makers in making decisions and solving problems. Space management in the past few years has been an increasingly important issue for both businesses and organizations and many attempts to solve the problem of space allocation have been made either by increasing the available space or by attempting to increase the efficiency of use of the available space. This dissertation aims to develop a decision support system for office space management in an attempt to improve future office space allocation in organizations by concentrating its studying at the office space allocation in The University of Nottingham at Jubilee Campus, Computer Science building. The decision support system developed, consists of a mixed approach of gathering, processing and presenting the appropriate data that are required by the office space management officer in order to perform the office space allocation, aiming to assist in the overall office space allocation process.
