Project Title: Developing a Programme to Calculate and Simulate Motorracing Events Student: Gwilym James Course: Bsc in Computer Science Abstract: Motorsport is one of the most popular sports in the world, having hundreds of millions of fans world-wide, of which I am won. Like many people, I watch motorsports and I see the decisions made by the team managers and I think "I could do better". Unlike other sports, there is no major management-based game, in the style of Sports Interactive's Football Manager, available for motorsports. Because of this, some people have taken to running sign up games on the internet, where participants create drivers, with data attached, then races are run and the virtual championship is run based on those results. However, the calculators available for these games are unsatisfactory, lacking detail in such a way that it may damage players enjoyment of the games. Therefore I have decided that I will attempt to develop a motorsport simulator and calculator with the aim of creating one that can simulate a full race and output the result of that simulation in detail.
