Dr. Julie Greensmith

I am a geordie on tour, working as a lecturer in the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham as part of the Intelligent Modelling and Analysis Research Group.

I teach two spring semester modules: G51FSE and G53NMD

My current research interests include artificial immune systems mostly focusing on dendritic cell based approaches. I am also interested in a range of computational intelligence techniques, particularly the use and development of ensemble classifiers. I am interested in a wide range of complex and cool application areas including computer security, affective computing and wearable biosensing.

I’m also involved in a number of outreach activities. I give a lot of talks and meet really interesting people, both scientists and members of the public alike, in addition to running events for school children. I believe that public education of science is paramount to securing the UK's future as a prominent world leader in science, and I like to help out with this when I can.
