I am a Professor of Applied Interdisciplinary Computing in the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham. I carry out my research within the Automated Scheduling, Optimisation and Planning Research Group (ASAP) where I lead the Interdisciplinary Optimisation Laboratory (IOL).
My research activities lie at the interface of Computer Science and the Natural Sciences, e.g. Biology, Physics, Chemistry.
In particular, I focus on developing innovative and competitive search methodologies and intelligent decision support systems with an emphasis on transdisciplinary optimisation, modelling of complex systems and very-large datasets processing.
I have applied my expertise to Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Synthetic Biology, Nanoscience and Chemistry.
From time to time I will post updates (e.g. new paper, vacancies, questions) to twitter. If interested, then
