My name is Warren Jackson and I am a PhD student within the Computational Optimisation and Learning (COL) Lab (previously Automated Scheduling, Optimisation and Planning (ASAP) research group) at the University of Nottingham, UK.

My interests are in artificial intelligance and optimisation with emphasis on cross-domain search. Cross-domain search is a high-level issue where a single search method (optimisation algorithm) is used for solving multiple characteristically different combinatorial optimisation problems, and preferably without the need for expert intervention. I am therefore interested in the methods used to solve this higher-order problem, the components which they can be broken down into, and those methodologies used within the state-of-the-art, including:

• Move acceptance methods
• Heuristic selection strategies
• Machine learning techniques
