Welcome to G52AIM: Artificial Intelligence Methods

This is one of the home pages for the Artificial Intelligence Methods course which is run by The School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham. The course is a optional course for the final year (3rd year) of our Computer Science degree (UCAS Code G400). It is also an optional course for a variety of other degree courses.

More details as to when these subjects will be covered are available on the lecture schedule page. However, please do not plan your attendance around this schedule as we may not stick rigidly to it (best to attend every lecture!)

Course Outline

This module will further develop some of the themes from the Introduction to AI course (G5AIAI), as well as introducing new areas for study. The course will also cover modern search techniques and may include methodologies such as Genetic Algorithms, Ant Systems, Tabu Search and Simulated Annealing, Genetic Programming, Artificial Life, Neural Networks and Evolution Strategies.
