Project Title: Online Flight Scheduling and Booking System for East Midlands University Air Squadron

Abstract:
This dissertation was always aimed at making a useful piece of software and at making the situation 
as realistic as possible to ones found in industry. Therefore, as I have been working for the RAF 
reservists for the past 2 years; I pitched a project idea to my squadron (East midlands University 
air Squadron) members of staff. As a result, the following project was born. The squadron currently 
has a paper based booking system; this booking system lets students book the time when they would 
like to go flying. The squadron used to have an electronic system to do this but it became corrupted 
and hasn't been used in over 2 years. Therefore, my aim was to create a booking system to solve this 
problem. Hopefully, the booking system will provide not only the advantages of an electronic system 
but also other advantages such as: a simple means of processing bookings and an information system 
other than a forum.
