Project Title: Developing a Programme to Calculate and Simulate Motorracing Events Student: Gwilym James Course: Bsc in Computer Science Abstract: Tour planning has been popular since time immemorial. It has grown so big that a multimillion dollar industry grew from it. The advent of smart devices has however helped individuals to completely take charge of how they plan tours. Android apps have grown in leaps and bounds and the accessibility to various APIs makes it possible to integrate several systems into a single design driven by information access. This project involves the creation of an android based personal tour planning tool. The project aims to take the application through all stages of development and with the aid of available literature, identify the most suitable approach at addressing the problem that gave birth to the project. The core of producing a personal tour hinges on the ability to search for diligences associated with a set of keywords. These diligences are collated or stacked up with respect to user location and with the chosen algorithm advises the user on the sequence of steps to take from his or her location through all the diligences found and back to his or her location. This saves on time and cost. The dissertation had its challenges based on a few restrictions associated with working with the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) but the findings of the development provides a ready spring board for a few exciting future development.
