Project Title: Google Tango Computer Vision Platform for Freight Measuring Student: Gishan Don Ranasinghe Course: MSci in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Abstract: With all the advances in technology, 3D object measuring continues to remain an open problem. Freight measuring in the logistics and shipping industries is one of the areas suffering from the lack of adequate technical solutions for this purpose. Due to the wastefulness of current methods used for freight measuring (eg. usage of measuring tapes, etc.), the wastage of manpower, equipment and time is an increasing challenge for these industries. In this work, we propose a mobile freight measuring application based on the recently released Google Tango computer vision platform in order to provide an efficient technical solution for freight measuring.
