Project Title: Prototype System for Trading Convertible Bonds in Taiwan Student: Pei-Yen Lin Course: MSc Management of IT Abstract: Convertible Bonds (CB) is getting popular in Taiwan, not only has it become one of the most important financial instruments for firms, but also is a popular investment target for traders. However, the difficulties are not only to obtain relevant CB features for traders, but it is also hard to deal with the amount of CBs traders have invested in to create financial daily reports in a company. Therefore, research began with the aim of seeking to establish an information management system in order to support traders' daily tasks. They can use the system to manage their positions (how many shares they have), create P&L reports and track their trading records. The design and development phases have been described, and the project aims have been evaluated. With reference to project targets, even though some specific details in the system need to be improved, all of them have been achieved successfully. The project may be of interest to beginners who work as programers and their jobs are related to covertible bonds, stocks and euro-convertible bonds in a securities firm.
