Assessment

Coursework will account for 25% of the marks for the module, with an unseen examination covering the remaining 75%.

The coursework for 2005/6 is now available. This assignment requires you to read and report on three short papers from IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, those papers are available below:

Early use of Computers in Swiss Banks

The Reconstruction of Conrad Zuse' Z3

How did Computing go Global?

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS YEAR'S ASSIGNMENT IS 3.30PM ON MONDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 2005.

The University maintains an online set of past examination papers, and you will find previous HOC papers there. Though the content obviously varies from year to year, the style and format remain much more stable. Even so it is not a good idea to look back too far into the archives. The paper for 2005/6 will be most similar in style to those used since 2001.

Feedback on the exam scripts and coursework submitted is available here.
